Timber Bamboos
This section is dedicated to the larger of the bamboos we have in our nursery. These species grow between 30 to 72 feet tall. All of the species we have of this type are from the Phyllostachys genus. This genus is known for being resilient to weather changes and their various eye-catching colors which make for a gorgeous bonus wherever they are planted.
Species: Phyllostachys vivax
A powerful, arborescent bamboo. The vigorous shoots are quite beautiful and, once established, are very fascinating to observe their rapid growth. This species is one of the fastest growing timber bamboos available in temperate climates. P. vivax has some of the tastiest, bitter-free shoots that appear in early Summer.

Species: Phyllostachys bambusoides
A resilient, upright specimen so strong, this giant tree grass can be used as building material when mature. This bamboo has brilliant deep green stalks that can make for a great hedge that sheds its lower branches over time. Grows slower than vivax, but is more resistant to breakage.
